Protesters Block Highway due to the shot dead of Hindu Businessman in Pakistan
Bengaluru, Feb 3 (UITV) Pakistan’s local media reported a Hindu businessman was shot dead by influential members of the Dahar community, 2km from Daharki town in Ghatki district of Pakistan's Sindh province, on Monday.
According to the Express Tribune, the name of the businessman was Satan Lal and the cause of death was a protest against a land piece. There was an opening of a cotton mill and flour mill on Satan Lal's land where he was shot dead by some people, ”the Express Tribune told Anil Kumar, a friend of Lal's, who was present at the scene.
A few months ago Satan Lal issued a statement in a video that “They are threatening to kill me, break my eyes, and cut off my limbs. They are telling me to leave Pakistan. I would love to die in this country and here but I will not surrender”. ” The roadside land is mine and why should I allowance it," he added. Lal called on the Chief Justice of Pakistan and other authorities to bring him to justice, naming those who were threatening to kill him.
On Tuesday, a huge number of protesters blocked the national highway in protest of the killing of a Hindu businessman. After the location, police arrested the ringleader Bachal Dahar and his associates on charges of killing Lal. Earlier, locals protested in front of Daharki police in an attempt to pressure law enforcement agencies to arrest the culprits.
