Aus vs India: Indian players fined 20 per cent for slow over-rate

Image
India cricket team players have been fined 20 per cent of their match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate against Australia in the first One-day International (ODI) in Sydney on Friday. David Boon of the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction after Virat Kohli's side was ruled to be one over short of the target after time allowances were taken into consideration. "In accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences, players are fined 20 per cent of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time," the ICC said in a statement.   Nepal and India have agreed to complete the remaining segment of boundary work, but the two countries did not specifically mention which one. A statement issued by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu on Friday morning said that during Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla's visit to Kathmandu, high-ranking officials from both sides discussed the boundary issues and exchanged views on completing the boundary work in the remaining segments. Nepal and India have some old outstanding boundary issues in Susta and Kalapani and a mechanism called Boundary Working Group is working to settle iy and to erect the border pillars since 2014. A fresh boundary dispute surfaced between the two neighbours after New Delhi published a new map in November 2019 incorporating the disputed territories under its territory. Preparing to accept defeat, Donald Trump agrees to Joe Biden transition

Image
President Donald Trump has at last set the stage for leaving office in January by agreeing to work with Joe Biden on the transition to his presidency, even as he stubbornly asserted that he would ultimately win. He tweeted on Monday evening that he was agreeing to cooperate with Biden in the "best interest of our country" for him to become the 46th President of a country facing a profound crisis brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic touching every aspect of life. The cooperation on transition will enable Biden, who has already begun designating key personnel for his cabinet and other senior-level jobs, to start work on January 20 when he will be sworn-in. However, beneath his claim of magnanimity was Trump's assertion that he will "prevail" in the November 3 election and reclaim the presidency. The head of General Services Administration, Emily Murphy, wrote to Biden that her office which is in charge of facilitating the transition will cooperate with him. &quo

"As Secretary of State, I believe that the numbers that we have presented today are correct," Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican, said at a news conference on Friday. "Close margins of voters leads to fights that are as fierce after Election Day as the campaigns before," he said. "Close elections sow distrust. People feel their side was cheated. We saw this from the Democrats in 2018. And we see this from Republicans today." The recount of roughly five million votes found that the former Vice President received 12,284 more votes than President Donald Trump in the traditional Republican stronghold, reports Xinhua news agency. Staying in a marriage is as much a woman's choice too," Bhumi explained. She made her debut with "Dum Laga Ke Haisha" in 2015, and since then has been gradually delivering critically acclaimed performances.
